Remy had just gotten back from a day trip to Solas where she had just bought the coolest thing in the entire world. It was the hottest new thing, something that cost a ton of money. Something that would revolutionize the way things were shown in Amelia.

The camera.

It was one of the best days in Remy's life. This thing could snap an image of something and print it out on paper. She couldn't wait to take a million pictures of herself. Oh Gods, this was going to be amazing!

"Hadley!" Remy called as she entered the living room where Hadley was chillin' on the couch. "Hadley this thing is going to be so awesome!"

A lady in Solas, someone named Bailey Flint, had invented it, and today was the first day that they were for sale. Luckily Remy worked for an overloridian, and used that to her advantage. She hadn't even needed to wait in line!

Hadley was laying on his back on the couch, holding up a newspaper that Nila was reading while sitting on his chest. As expected, the Dahlin mayor's arrest had made front page news. According to Nila, there was even a picture of the mayor trying to cover his face as he was taken away by police. Heh.

"Hm. What?" he asked, sitting up and tossing away the newspaper when Remy came in, sounding all excited. "What's gonna be awesome?"

He hadn't heard her sound so excited in a while, so he was pretty curious.

"I bought a camera!" she exclaimed, crossing the room and sitting beside him. She held the camera out in front of her because she couldn't stop looking at it. She'd wanted to stare at it the whole way home but she was afraid she would drop it in the balloon.

She took Hadley's hand and flipped it open. "This is going to be awesome," she told him, setting the camera gently in his hands.

They'd heard about cameras through the newspapers, but she hadn't told Hadley she was going today to purchase one. He hadn't shared in her excitement when they'd learned about them (probably because the invention was coming so soon after he no longer had any use for it), so she hadn't bothered asking him to take the day off work. When she'd left for her trip he'd been in some meeting with somebody about something.

"I can't wait to take a picture!"

"Oh," Hadley replied with significantly less enthusiasm. Nonetheless he took the camera into his hands and examined it with interest. He turned it over in his hands, trying to get an idea of what he was holding. It had some buttons and dials that he had no idea what were there for.

He vaguely remembered Remy telling him about these things, but he hadn't paid much attention at the time. He definitely hadn't thought Remy would go out and immediately buy one.

"Let me try," he said. Nila rolled her eyes at this. Hadley had to know he'd get nothing out of using a camera, but he was like a child who only wanted to play with a toy because he'd been told that he wasn't allowed to. "How's it work?"

"Wait, wait!" Remy said, pulling the camera out of his hands. "I want to do it first!" The words sounded childish, but she didn't care. She'd been waiting for this for forever.

She stood up and moved the camera up to her eye. She looked around the room through the tiny lens, and turned so that she was looking at Hadley through it. "Smile!" she told him. She couldn't think of anything better than a photo of Hadley for her first ever picture.

She snapped the photo and a thrill ran down her spine. She'd done it! She'd taken a picture! She excitedly sat back down on the couch. "Okay, you can have a turn now," she told him, even though she really didn't want to give it up. "We have to take thirty pictures and then I have to take it back to Solas to get them developed, or something. I can't remember what they called it. But they have to do something to the camera, and then they'll give me the pictures!"

She put the camera back in his hands. "You gotta press this button right here," she told him, placing one of his fingers on the little button. "But I'm not sure what all these other thingies do." But she couldn't wait to learn!

Hadley was slightly annoyed when Remy grabbed the camera back out of his hands, even though he had no right to be since it was hers. Oh well, she was way more excited about it than he was anyways.

He did smile, slightly perplexed, when she told him to. He heard a little snap and a whirring noise. "Was that it?" he asked. "Did you just take a picture of me?" He assumed that was why she had him smile, anyways.

She explained a bunch of stuff that didn't fully make sense about taking the pictures to be developed, whatever that meant, before placing the camera back into his hands and telling him what to do. He held it up, pointed it in a random direction and pressed the button. He heard the same little sounds as before. "Did I do it right?"

"Yes! You're gonna be my first picture!" Remy said excitedly as Hadley took the camera and held it up to snap a picture of...the wall. At least there was a drawing hanging up there. It would be interesting to see a picture of a picture.

"Here, let me get a picture of me," she told him, reaching over to take the camera. "No! A picture of us!" She pulled her arm around Hadley and then held the camera up backwards to that the little lens thing was facing them. "Kiss my cheek!" she instructed. They were gonna take the cutest pictures. Then she was gonna make him take a walk with her so she could take pictures of herself outside. Today was awesome. This was awesome.

"What? Er, okay," Hadley said slowly, leaning over and kissing her cheek. He heard her take another picture (he kind of liked the little sound it made.) This was starting to feel a little weird. Was Remy just going to look at a picture of him kissing her later? "What are you even gonna do with the pictures once you get them?"

He envied how excited she seemed over this."Lemme have it again," he said, making a grab for it. "I'll take one of you."

"I actually have no idea," Remy admitted to his question. "Just look at them and maybe put them on the walls." Like all over her bedroom. Maybe she'd put them up above her bed. Maybe she could put the one of her and Hadley in a frame on her nightstand.

Hadley took the camera out of her hands and held it up.

Hadlebee wrote:"I'll take one of you."

"Okay!" Remy said excitedly. She stood up and walked around the coffee table. "Aim the camera over here," she told him so he would know where she was standing. She thought for a second about what she should be doing in the picture and then posed with her hands on her hips. "Take it now!" she told him, wishing more than anything she wouldn't have to wait to see the pictures.

"Put them up high if you put them on the walls," Hadley told her, even though he was sure she already knew. He had the walls around the estate kept bare up to a certain height so that he could walk along them easily. Unless she just meant the walls of her bedroom, in which case she could put them wherever she wanted. But she most likely knew that, too.

He followed the sound of her voice with the camera and snapped the picture. "Did I get you?" he asked. He had a brief thought of Remy just sitting around looking at pictures of herself. Considering how much time she spent in front of mirrors, it wasn't that difficult to imagine. Ugh. Now that he thought about it, taking these pictures was fun and all, but it was going to be pretty irritating once Remy got them developed and everyone but him would be admiring them.

"They should invent something that records sound next time," he said, absent-mindedly twisting one of the little dials on the camera.

"I think so!" Remy said happily. "Take another one!" she said, smoothing out her skirt and putting a hand in her hair. "I can't wait to see how these turn out." Who would have thought this would ever be possible?

"Maybe they'll invent that next," she said, to Hadley's wish. "Listen, they had all these sample pictures at the store and they were so awesome. When we get ours back it's going to be the coolest thing ever." She wanted to take pictures all day.

Hadley was trying pretty hard here to be as excited as Remy, or at least excited at all, but he was quickly being forced to accept that this was just not something he was gonna be able to enjoy. He took another picture, not caring as much this time whether or not he was aiming it right. Nila watched, thinking that if Hadley could see Remy's silly poses right now, he'd tease her about them for days.

Remington wrote:"Listen, they had all these sample pictures at the store and they were so awesome. When we get ours back it's going to be the coolest thing ever."

"Great, I can't wait to not look at them," he replied dryly before he could stop himself. For no particular reason, he took another random picture aimed at nothing.

Remy was already thinking of her next pose when Hadley had to dampen the mood by reminding her that he couldn't see and would never see her pictures just like he would never see her. The smile slid off her face, and her arms fell to her sides.

"Hadley," she said, her heart squeezing a little. She hated when they got themselves into these situations. Remy was such a visual being--she loved looking at beautiful things and being surrounded by beautiful things, and Hadley would never be able to enjoy them. Even though Hadley had mostly grown accustomed to his new life, and Remy had adjusted along with him, things like this always walked that thin line into the uncomfortable area.

How could you enjoy something when someone else felt so off-put by it?

She sighed and sat back down next to him on the couch. "You don't have to take anymore pictures if you don't want to," she told him.

Ughhhh. "I wasn't trying to make you feel bad," Hadley mumbled, a little annoyed with himself. He hadn't been trying to ruin Remy's good mood or anything, he was just being a sarcastic asshole. Yeah, he was feeling pretty apathetic about this camera thing, but if they only ever did things together that he could enjoy as much as Remy, they'd never do anything together. "I was only joking."

He reached his arm around her and pulled her closer to him. "Here, let's take another one. Smile," he said, turning the camera to their faces. Then, at the last second, he poked her hard in the side in a ticklish spot and snapped the picture when she reacted with a squeal and what was presumably a hilarious face. "That'll be a good one."

Hopefully that would lighten the mood back up.

Remy would never, ever get tired of when Hadley was cute. She hated being tickled, but the fact that he did it to make her smile...well it made her smile.

"You're a jerk!" she cried with a laugh, pulling away from him. She reached over and snatched the camera away and snapped a picture of him too, with his cute hair and his cute face and his cute everything else. She set the camera down on the coffee table.

"And if you tickle me again I'm gonna hafta kill ya," she told him.

Hadley smiled at Remy's laugh. He found that making her laugh was just as enjoyable as making her angry. "You like me too much to try to kill me," he said, reaching over for her and grabbing her arm. He leaned back so that he was laying on his back and pulled Remy down on top of him. He moved to kiss her, missing her lips and getting her cheek instead. Oh well. He ran his hand through her hair, short on one side and long on the other, just like how he remembered it, and then messed it up just to be annoying.

"Always so confident in my affections for you," Remy said, adjusting herself so she was more comfortable. "You're gonna be sorry when I leave you for someone infinitely more attractive," she joked with a laugh as he kissed the corner of her mouth. She moved slightly so that she placed her lips at his ear and then whispered, "I especially don't take kindly to hair messer-uppers."

She pulled his hands away from her hair and held them. "Clio who do that usually don't make it out alive, Ov. Sterling," she told him mischievously, kissing from his ear down his neck. "But I suppose I'll let it go, since you're such a comfy pillow right now."

"You wouldn't give me up after pining after me for so long," Hadley replied with a grin. "Besides, I told you you can't rely on looks forever. Your infinitely more attractive new boyfriend might leave you for someone young and beautiful when you get old, but you'll be young and beautiful in my head forever." If there was one thing Remy was bound to appreciate, that was it. He had never cared much how Remy looked before and for obvious reasons he cared even less now, but he knew what she'd like to hear.

He felt a little shiver when she whispered in his ear, and the feeling didn't go away as she kissed down his neck. It threw him off enough that he couldn't even come up with a clever comeback right away. "W-well I do always aim to please," he managed.

"Oh, do you now?" she asked softly, continuing her kisses across his throat to the collar of his shirt. She let go of his hands and scooted up a little so she wasn't laying so flat across him.

She bit her lip when she got to his collar and looked back up at him. His face made her smile--it was as close to panic as Remy had ever seen him. She wondered then if this was the first time that he'd ever been this close with someone. She liked that, if it was; bringing him into new territory, seeing the usually confident and sure Hadley thrown into something he had no experience with. It made her heart beat just a little bit faster.

Hadley's breathing picked up a little bit as Remy spoke in a soft tone of voice he wasn't sure he'd ever heard her use with him before, as she continued to kiss his neck. How far did she want to take this? he wondered, both nervous and maybe a little bit excited. The most he had ever done with anyone in the past was kiss, and this was all completely new in every way.

When Remy stopped he sat up just a little bit, surprised at how loud his heart seemed to be beating. "Uhm," he said quietly, uncharacteristically hesitant. "Do...you think we should go to my room? Someone could walk in here..."

He both wanted her to say yes and was afraid that she would say yes at the same time.

When Hadley's breathing hitched, Remy knew exactly what she wanted. It was so obvious that Hadley didn't, though, and somehow that made it even hotter. Rather, she was pretty sure he knew what he wanted, but was nervous about it, and that made it hotter, still.

She led Hadley to his bedroom, wishing suddenly that they didn't have a million other clio that lived with them. And then they did something that we're not going to rp because in years to come when we look back on this post we don't want to be embarrassed. But I will say that it was perfect in every way, and that Remy thought it was way better than any encounter of the sort she had ever had before.

Afterwards, once her heart had stopped beating hundreds of beats per second and her breathing had slowed back down to normal, she thought about how amazing all of this was and how happy she was to be laying next to Hadley. What a different experience this was since the last time she'd been in his bed.

She leaned over and kissed his chest, laying her head on it.

Well, maybe there was one thing they could do together that Hadley could enjoy just as much as Remy. As scared as he had been at first, everything had sort of just fallen into place and ended up feeling right in every way. Hadley had never cared much about sex, especially compared to how everyone else seemed to make such a huge deal out of it, but the fact that it was with Remy made things...different, somehow. Good different.

If just half a year ago someone had told Hadley that this is where he and Remy would be in six months, he would have probably laughed in their face. But here he was, holding her closely, gently stroking her shoulder as she laid on his chest. Feeling closer to her than he'd ever felt to anyone in his life.

"What are you thinking about right now?" he murmured to her. She definitely seemed content with what had just happened. And since he could never keep a mood serious for long, he added, "Did this live up to your wildest fantasies?"

She wrinkled her nose up and squeeze him a little, but couldn't help smiling. His tantalizing jokes had never been funny, but now they were part of the reason she liked him so much. Especially when they were talking about him and her together. It was nice knowing she'd never have to feel embarrassed about that again.

"Eh," she told him, not moving from her spot on his chest. His fingers trailed along her bare shoulders tickling her a little and sending goosebumps down her arm. "I guess it was alright." She leaned up and gave him a kiss along his jaw.

Hadley laughed quietly. "I guess it was alright for me, too," he said, knowing that she wasn't being serious either. They were so rarely serious with each other, and he liked it that way. After she kissed his jaw he gently tilted her chin back up with his hand so that he could kiss her lips.

The cute couple laid in bed doing couple-y things that are done when couples are in bed and naked.......................................................................................... (those dots are from Hazel Grace) until they wore each other out and fell asleep, leaving Remy's shiny new camera alone and forgotten on the coffee table. It was the second time Remy had slept in Hadley's bed, but of course this time was infinitely better.
